Origin and Significance of Holi Celebration: Holi, the most awaited festival is about to reach the doors of India!
The arrival of this spring festival boosts energy and excitement in every citizen including kids, youths, and adults.

But do you know and why we celebrate this festival? And why is this festival so merciful?

Origin and Significance of Holi Celebration / Spring Festival:

Holi is the most lively and colorful festival in India. And is a common Hindu religious festival. But now people from all around the world celebrate this day. Thus, it promotes fun, joy, and brotherhood among people.
In this vibrant festival,  people enjoy it with the use of colors which adds brightness in the days of humans.

The main motto and theme of this festival ls “the victory of good over evil”.

In ancient times, Hiranyakashipu there was a devil, cruel and self-centered king. Thus, wanted to dominate over people. But his son Prahlada was against his wish. Therefore, the king planned to kill his son with the help of his sister Holika. As per his brother’s wish, she finally deceived Prahlada and sat on the pyre of fire by holding him on her lap.

But she had evil thoughts and intentions. Hence, she herself got burned alive in that fire and Prahlada was safe.

This is the reason why we celebrate this spring festival to bestow our respect to Prahlada and to burn all the evils beside.

The festival of Holi is celebrated in the reign of 3 days in all states of India

Day 1 – Holi Purnima: A full moon day to mark the victory of good over evil.

Day 2 – Kamudu pyre (Holika Dahan): This is to burn the evils spirits.

and, Day 3 – Holi Celebration Day (Parva): On this day, everyone splashes and puts color and water on each other by diminishing every complaint and. Also, enjoys the day with fun, music, dance, and cannabis embedded food and drinks.

To mark the existence of this aesthetic and remarkable festival, different institutions celebrated the day in different styles.

BITT Polytechnic College in Ranchi believes students too should learn from every origin of festivals that are celebrated in Inda. Thus, they should inspect the evils within them to boost the goodwills. Also, this Polytechnic College in Jharkhand arranged an in-class session to help their students be more aware of their culture and their significance.
A day before Holi’s holiday, the students enjoyed decently with the use of dry colors and the wastage of water.
